Sylvester is Associate Vice President, European Markets at Nasdaq. He leads European Business Development in Norway and is responsible for the full value chain of new market penetration in Norway including market data, equity and derivatives, and ESG.
In this capacity, Sylvester has launched new products and engaged in several partnerships for Nasdaq’s Global Information Services and transaction businesses. Working with both conventional and alternative data in organic product development and potential M&A and partnership cases, he engages with a broad range of stakeholders, from banks, institutional clients and online brokers to regulators, media and interest organizations.
One of Sylvester’s specific areas of interest is around client centricity. He’s also a thought leader on ETFs, ETPs and issues surrounding ESG.
Prior to his current role, Sylvester held sales roles within Nasdaq’s transaction services, developing the Danish derivatives market, and setting up a Danish ETP/ETF market from scratch. He was also responsible for reconnecting Iceland to the international equity trading space and engaging the Norwegian financial sector.
Sylvester holds a leadership degree from the Wharton School and a Master’s Degree in Marketing from Aalborg University.
